Grand Seiko Quartz ‘Snowflake’

For this timepiece, arguably the brand’s best known design, the dial mimics the uneven, compressed Japanese granular mountain snow which dominates the view from the Grand Seiko studio.
Artisans in the Shinshu studio bring to life Grand Seiko’s respect for the nature of time in the ‘Snowflake.’

‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs – a Japanese spirituality where each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and shadow. The watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is represented from engineering watch movements which emulate the smooth motion of time passing, to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature.

This watch is powered by the compact high accuracy 4J52 movement, in which every single quartz crystal has been grown in-house and tested over three months. Only the best performing crystals are selected for a Grand Seiko.
